International English Language Testing System
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is designed to test the language ability of people who want to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. Over 2.5 million tests are taken each year.
It uses a nine-band scale to clearly identify levels of proficiency, from non-user (band score 1) through to expert (band score 9).
Taking IELTS opens doors - it can help you live, study and work around the world. More than 9,000 organizations in 140 countries accept IELTS, including government, academic and employment institutions.
