IELTS fees in Ahmedabad: calculate the full cost before you pay
The number advertised by a coaching centre is not the whole IELTS budget. Separate the official test fee, coaching tuition and optional preparation costs, then compare written inclusions.
The immediate answer
IDP IELTS India listed the standard IELTS Academic and General Training test fee as ₹19,000 when this guide was reviewed on 22 September 2026. UKVI, Life Skills, One Skill Retake and other services can have different fees. This is an official examination charge, not RK Academy tuition, and it can change—verify it on IDP’s current fee page before booking.

Build the budget in four lines
1. Official test
Correct test type, booking fee and any change/retake risk.
2. Coaching
Tuition, taxes, contact hours, validity and feedback.
3. Materials
Books, mock platform or printing only when not included.
4. Logistics
Travel, time off work and test-day transport.
Worked comparison
Course A costs ₹8,000 but includes eight group sessions and no reviewed writing. Course B costs ₹12,000 and includes a diagnostic, sixteen sessions, four marked writing tasks and two speaking reviews. If writing is the main verified weakness, Course B may be better value even though it is more expensive. If a learner already writes at target level and needs only test familiarisation, neither long package may be necessary.
The editorial judgment is to compare the service against the diagnosed gap, not choose the lowest fee or largest list of generic features.

Costs that a headline price often leaves out
A realistic plan also considers a possible re-test, transport to classes and the test centre, extra writing or speaking reviews, replacement materials, internet/headset needs for online study, and time away from work or college. Not every learner will incur every item, but omitting them makes two quotes look more similar than they are.
Ask whether a mock platform is available for the full course validity and whether reviewed feedback is capped. “Unlimited practice” may describe access to questions while individual evaluation remains limited. That can still be a reasonable offer, but the distinction should be visible before payment.
A simple written decision record
Create one row per provider with the dated quote, total payable amount, test stream, taught hours, batch size, feedback evidence, mocks, access expiry, refund terms, travel time and the main reason it fits your diagnostic. Mark every missing answer rather than filling it with an assumption.
Then use a veto rule: reject a course if it prepares the wrong IELTS module, will expire before the planned test window, does not address the diagnosed weak skill or will not provide complete payment terms. Score value only after those basic conditions pass. This prevents a limited-time discount from overriding a more important mismatch.
